Abstract

1,268,507. Delivering rings. SVENSKA KULLAGERFABRIKEN A.B. 18 April, 1969, No. 20012/69. Heading B8S. [Also in Division F2] A resilient ring 7 for retaining a sealing ring of a bearing is inserted in a groove 4 in a bearing race 1 using a mandrel 8. A sleeve is threaded on to the mandrel and cut to form a pack of resilient rings. The mandrel has an internal chamber 9 in which fluid can be pressurized, and has a fluid orifice 10 at a distance from the end of the mandrel equal to the unstrained axial thickness of a ring, the orifice being in communication with the chamber 9. The pack of rings is arranged with one end flush with the end of the mandrel so that on compression of the fluid in the chamber, the ring is blown off into the groove. The pack of rings is then moved along the mandrel so that the end ring is again flush with the end of the mandrel ready for the next ring to be inserted.
