Abstract

1,268,476. Glazing bars. G. BROLLO. 30 June, 1970 [11 March, 1970], No. 31696/70. Heading E1R. A folded sheet metal glazing bar of inverted-T section for use in greenhouse roofs &c comprises a web 6 having a T-shaped head 1 with lateral flanges 2, 3 inclined downwards to house resilient clips (5 Figs. 2 and 3 not shown) securing the glass panes on the bar the web also having a vertical rectilinear body portion 6 ending at the bottom of the 'T' portion, in shoulders 7, 8 folded at right angles to the stem of the 'T' to support the panes and folded further to form a hollow base portion 16 with bilateral portions 10, 11 folded back on themselves to support the bar on the cross-beams of a greenhouse roof, each of the portions 10, 11 ending in a side wall 12, 13 at a distance from the hollow base portion 16 to form channels 14, 15 for collection of rain water, the walls 12, 13 being extended up to the level of the adjacent shoulders 7, 8 to provide further support for the panes resting on the shoulders, and the dimensions of the hollow base part 16 being such as to receive the head 17 of an anchoring device, having a portion for fastening to a cross-beam and extending through the gap between the portions 10, 11. Anchors for metal and wooden cross beams are illustrated in Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown).
