Compounds of the general formula (Z=S, O, SO 2 , NH, NHC 3 , CH 2 , CHCH 3 , C(CH 3 ) 2 , CO; Y=O, S; X<SP>1,2</SP>=H, CH 3 , CH 3 O, CH 3 S, Cl, CF 3 , CH 3 CO; Alk=(CH 2 ) 1-3 , CH(CH 3 )CH 2 ; Am=NH 2 , C 1-4 alkylamino, di- (C 1-4 alkyl)amino, piperidino, morpholino, 4- methyl-1-piperazinyl, 4-(2-thenyl)-1-piperazinyl, 4-benzyl-1-piperazinyl, 1-methyl-2-piperidyl, 1- methyl-3-piperidyl, 4-carbamoyl-4-piperidinopiperidino, 3-oxa-1-thia-4,8-diazaspiro(4,5)decan-8-yl) and their acid addition salts are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula with Q-Alk-Am (one of P, Q=OH, SH or alkali metal salt thereof, the other = reactive residue), optionally followed by salt formation. The above compounds are antihistaminics and antidepressants, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
