[Also in Divisions C4 and C5] Metal surfaces are coated with a sprayable composition comprising, by weight, 40-50% zirconium silicate, 5-20% aqueous sodium silicate (20-60% solids), 0.05-1% polysaccharide gum and 35-50% water (see Divisions C4-5). The coating protects injection lances (e.g. of copper), slag pots, and molten metal casting plant in general, from the adherence of splashes of molten metal or slag.
