Abstract
1,268,096. Maltoses. HAYASHIBARA CO. 1 April, 1969 [1 April, 1968], No. 17105/69. Heading C2C. The preparation of maltoses from starches is effected by uniformly gelatinizing and dispersing a starch slurry with a concentration of more than 10% at a temperature of above 130‹ and up to 170‹ C., and before retrogradation can take place, thoroughly mixing the resulting slurry with beta-amylase and an alpha-1,6-glucosidase for saccharification, and isolating the maltose produced.
