In apparatus for measuring the inflation pressure in a tyre the air is supplied from a cap c, pressed on to a tyre valve, through a hose 117 to a cylinder 104 to move a piston 105 and through a cable 106, arm 107, counterbalanced by a weight 108, bevel gears 103' and shaft 103, to rotate a graduated cylindrical scale 101 and through a galvanometer 109 having two current coils, one coil of which is connected to a pick-up responsive to ambient air temperature and the other responsive to the tyre air-pressure, rotates a pointer 102 to indicate the pressure on the scale 101 as if the air were at ambient temperature.
