Abstract

1,267,727. Electrostatic or magnetic imaging. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. 10 Oct., 1969, No. 49817/69. Heading B6C. An electrostatic or magnetic image formed on a surface 3 at 2 and developed at 4 may be transferred to a substrate 13 to form a permanent record or may be transferred to an endless display surface 7 for observation. Surface 7 may be rubber, nylon, plastics or metal and may have a white matt silver or reflective coating. In Fig. 3 (not shown) surface 7 is transparent and extends around a system (21, 22) for projecting the image on to a screen (24). Substrate 13 and surface 7 may be selectively engaged with surface 3 for transfer by solenoid operated pressure rollers 10a and 6. Alternatively as in Fig. 2 (not shown), substrate 13 may be passed under roller 6 when a permanent record is required, a solenoid operated cutter (17) being provided for substrate 13. Electrostatic transfer may be used instead of pressure transfer.
