Abstract
PURPOSE:To exactly bring an unnecessary part of a color separation plate to light-shielding by detecting the image information of a desired picture pattern in accordance with a difference of brightness or a color between one point designated from image information of the color separation plate and each point of a read image, and generating a mask in accordance with the image information. CONSTITUTION:One point in a desired picture pattern in an image which is read from image information of a color separation plate 100 is designated. Subsequently, in a clipping processing part 160, in accordance with a degree of a difference of brightness or a color between this designated one point and each point of an image which is read, image information of a desired picture pattern is detected, and in accordance with its detected image information, a silver salt film is exposed. In such a way, by detecting an image of only a necessary part, a mask is generated automatically. Therefore, an unnecessary part of the color separation plate can be brought to masking exactly.
