Abstract

1,267,355. Threaded fasteners. ITW Ltd. 12 June, 1969 [14 June, 1968], No. 28585/68. Heading F2H. A plastics stud or bolt is provided in combination with a sheet-metal locknut or member having a hole provided with a single thread turn, the thread turn forming a friction fit with the stud or bolt. The thread turn in the locknut or member may be defined by an edge portion of the hole which may be corrugated (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown) and which is deformed to form a helical thread turn. The plastics stud or bolt may have a hexagonal or part-conical head provided with a hexagonal recess, a thread which may extend part-way along the length of the stud or bolt and a threadless portion at the end opposite the head.
