Abstract

1,266,724. Dispensing articles. I. M. D. ITALIANA MACCHINE DISTRIBUZIONE S.p.A. Aug. 8, 1969 [Aug. 9, 1968; Oct. 2, 1968], No.39916/69. Heading A4T. A storage column for substantially cylindrical objects, e. g. bottled drinks, has two rows of objects 15, 16 such that the surface joining the axes of objects in one row is spaced from the surface joining the axes of objects in the other row by a distance less than the external diameter of an object; an interception member 20 movable between a first position in which it intercepts the objects in one row, a second position in which it intercepts the objects in the other row, and a further position between the first and second positions in which it intercepts objects in both rows; a toothed member 23 secured to the interception member 20; and a lever 30 having a tooth at each side 28, 29 of a pivot point, the teeth of the lever and those of the toothed member being such that the pressing of a tooth of the lever against a tooth of the member acts to disengage that tooth from the member and engage the other tooth with the member. A control member 34 is preferably provided, movable upwards by means of electromagnet 32 against spring 40, which upwards movement frees pin 26, secured to sector 23, and allows dispensing. The slot 38 may have a cuspshaped tooth formed in its bottom edge opposite slot 39, so that pin 26 just passes between the cusp and the corner of slot 39.
