Abstract

1,266,365. Valves. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 29 July, 1969 [8 Aug., 1968], No. 38023/69. Heading F2V. Valve member 58 is movable between seats 17 and 26 by electromagnetic coils 42, 42<SP>1</SP> to connect a working port 30 to a port 15 connected to a vacuum source or ports 24 connected to atmosphere. A pressure responsive member between chamber B and chamber C which is connected to atmosphere via ports 5, 6 is connected by stem 48 to the valve member 58 to pressure balance the latter. The housing is made of glass fibre reinforced resin as is the pressure responsive member while the valve member 58 is made of low hysteresis loss steel and the pot-shaped members 35, 35<SP>1</SP> housing the electromagnetic coils are of magnetic material. Spring 61 biasing the valve member 58 exerts an equal force thereon when the valve is in both closed positions.
