Abstract

A guard for a press comprises a cage structure 10, adapted to be permanently secured to the press structure, and panel-like guard elements 32, 33 which are detachably mounted on the cage structure 10 by a plurality of clamps 23. The cage structure 10 comprises a peripheral frame 14, parallel side bars 15 and an inclined transparent viewing panel 20. Each clamp 23 comprises an eye 24 captive to a bar at the lower part of the cage and a shank 25 which projects through a collar 26, through aligned apertures in clamp plates 28, and is engaged by a nut 29. The front panel 33 is transparent.
