Abstract
1,266,271. Polyimide compositions. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. 3 April, 1970 [4 April, 1969], No. 15927/70. Heading C3R. [Also in Division C4] An abrasive article comprises from 6 to 35 volume per cent of diamonds, from 10 to 75 volume per cent of coalesced aromatic polyimide of an inherent viscosity at least 0À1 and from 5 to 65 volume per cent of a compacted structural metal in dendritic form at least prior to compaction. The metal may be nickel, iron, zinc, nickel alloys, copper, silver and copper alloys such as bronze and brass. The particles may be of size 50 to 600 U.S. Standard mesh. Additional abrasive particles may be present such as of silicon carbide or aluminium oxide and also a filler such as glass or metal powder or fibres.
