Abstract
1,266,201. Filter elements; mixing in conduits; spray producers. BRUNSWICK CORP. 29 Jan., 1969 [30 Jan., 1968], No. 5013/69. Headings B1C, BID and B2F. [Also in Divisions B3, B5, F2, F4, G2 and H4] A collinated hole structure (Division B3) has a plurality of passages each having a maximum cross-section dimension of under 250 microns formed in a disc Fig. 8, a tube Fig. 9 or a cylinder Fig. 10 to produce a filter element. Shaped structures having parallel passages (Figs. 13 through 16 not shown) are used as radiation filters. A structure 24 (Fig. 17) is fitted to a concave atomizing nozzle having an air duct 93 surrounded by a concentric fuel duct 94. A structure 47 having angularly disposed passages 50 (Fig. 24) is arranged in a pipe junction so as to introduce fluid from the pipe 116 with a minimum of turbulence into the fluid flowing through the pipe 118. The structure is provided with helical passages 72 (Fig. 12) so that elements cut from the structure can be used in nozzles and jets to impart a rotational motion to fluids passing therethrough.
