Abstract
1,265,630. Electromagnetic relays. SIEMENS A.G. 30 Oct., 1970 [31 Oct., 1970], No. 51611/70. Heading H1N. The flux-carrying part, such as the core, of an electromagnetic relay is isolated from casting resin in which the relay is potted by sealing elements. As shown, the relay core 4 is located within the coil former 9 between two sealing rings 19, 20 preferably of silicone resin or silicone rubber. The ring 20 occupies a large hole 12 in a flux return member 11 and is magnetically bridged by a yoke plate 13 separated from the member 11 by an insulating foil 14. A protective cap 21 is placed over the core end and its retaining spring clip 15 and may be sprayed thereon. A covering screen 17 surrounds the casting resin 18 and a spring 22 presses the relay against the other end of the cover. A sealed contact chamber is formed by a carrier plate 2 and a cover 8 welded or soldered thereto. The contact armature 6 is mounted on a leaf spring 5 and co-operates with the core end which is the fixed contact and extends through a glass bead 3 in the plate 2.
