Abstract
1,265,398. Dichloro - α,α,α - trifluorotoluene lithium compounds. SANDOZ Ltd. 24 April, 1969 [17 May, 1968], No. 12365/71. Divided out of 1,265,397. Heading C2J. Compounds of formula are prepared by reacting either 2,4-dichloro- or 3,4 - dichloro - α,α,α - trifluorotoluene respectively with a compound RLi where R is C 1-6 alkyl in an inert solvent such as a hydrocarbon or ether in the absence of oxygen. The reaction is usually effected at - 60‹ to - 30‹ C. using butyl lithium as RLi.
