Abstract
1,265,062. Ignition systems. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. May 2, 1969 [May 2, 1968, Nov.7, 1968], No.22405/69. Heading F1B. The invention relates to a capacitor discharge ignition system in which a capacitor 24 is dischargeable by way of the primary winding 16 of an ignition transformer by means of an electronic switch 23. There is provided a composite iron core 10 which carries a charging winding 12 for charging the capacitor, on a first limb and a control winding 14 on a second limb for controlling the electronic switch. A magnet 19 is associated with the core to produce voltages in the windings upon relative rotation between the magnet and the core. The electronic switch 23 may be a thyristor or may incorporate thermionic valves or semiconductor components such as transistors or diodes. It is stated that an automatic ignition advance is obtained.
