Abstract

[Also in Division B8] Apparatus for reversing articles 1 of pastry, to which the articles are delivered by a first conveyer 3 and from which they are conveyed away by a second conveyer 6, is characterized in that a wheel 4 is disposed between the delivery end of the conveyer 3 and the intake of the second conveyer 6, the wheel 4 having a plurality of recesses or cut-out portions 12, 13, spaced about its periphery, at least some (13) of the recesses being shaped to constitute reversing recesses adapted to impart to an article 1 received therein a rotational movement at least beyond its approximately vertical position of readiness to tip over, while the recesses 12 receive articles 1 without turning them over, so that a succession of alternately turned-over and non turned-over articles 1 are delivered to the conveyer 6. Guide rails 14, cooperate with the wheel 4. The latter comprises a series of side-by-side wheels (Fig. 5, not shown) so that the apparatus can handle a series of parallel streams of biscuits simultaneously. The walls of the recesses are spiral shaped. The orientation of the biscuits is checked by the action of a pin-wheel 5. The action of this is described with reference to a diagram (Fig. 6, not shown).
