Abstract
1,263,681. Fibre lubricant polysiloxane-fatty amide compositions. DOW CORNING CORP. 2 Jan., 1970 [9 Jan., 1969], No. 218/70. Heading C3T. [Also in Divisions C5 and D1] An antistatic fibre lubricant comprises (1) 5-30 wt. per cent of a fatty amide compound R-CO-NH 2-n [R<SP>1</SP>O(R<SP>1</SP>O) y H] n , wherein R<SP>1</SP> is a C 2-6 alkylene group, n is 1 or 2, y is 0-10, on average, and R is a C 9-30 aliphatic hydrocarbyl group, and (2) 95-70 wt. per cent of a polyoxyalkylene - polydimethylsiloxane containing (A) 35-65 wt. per cent of units of the average formula Me m SiO (4-m-x)/2 , wherein m averages 1À8-2À1 and x represents the number of valencies satisfied by the segments (B) and corresponds to at least one such valency per molecule, and (B) 65-35 wt. per cent of blocks -D<SP>11</SP>(OD) a OD<SP>1</SP> wherein D is a C 2-4 alkylene group, at least 50 mol. per cent of D being C 2 H 4 and at most 30 mol. per cent being C 4 H 8 groups, D<SP>1</SP> is H or a C 1-6 alkyl or acyl group or a group -COÀOQ or -CO-NHQ, Q being a C 1-6 hydrocarbyl group, D<SP>11</SP> is a C 1-3 alkylene group, and a is at least 4, on average. A number of such mixtures are exemplified.
