Indicating.-In a micrometer gauge, the graduated edge A of the thimble B is made of spiral formation of the same pitch as the degree of movement of the thimble for each complete revolution, the spiral starting from the zero division, the edge thus travelling along the same division of the barrel scale until the revolution is complete.
