Abstract

633,431. Micrometer gauges. ROBSON, J. March 20, 1947, No. 7658. [Class 106 (ii)] For giving a direct reading, a standard micrometer gauge F has a rod D secured thereto on which is slidably mounted a standard revolution counter C. A gear-wheel E with ten teeth is secured to the first wheel of the counter, and meshes with a gear-wheel A of twenty-five teeth secured to the thimble of the micrometer. An end-plate B of the counter engages a groove in the flange of the wheel A to cause the counter to traverse along the rod D and prevent rotation of the counter about the rod. Rotation of the thimble thus causes the counter to operate and give a direct reading of the micrometer.
