1,262,355. Photographic apparatus. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Feb.10, 1969 [Feb. 9, 1968], No. 7105/69. Heading G2A. A photographic camera is provided with a shutter controlled in dependence on the prevailing exposure light by an electronic timing device having an R. C. -member, a rotatable lamp socket 12 for a flash cube 18, and a central control pin 16 in the socket movable against spring bias upon insertion of the flash cube into the socket, since this insertion depresses a collar 16a of the pin. Depression of the pin 16 closes a switch 17 to connect a fixed resistance (23) Fig. 3 (not shown) in parallel with a photo-resistance (21) of the R.C. -member to provide an exposure time appropriate to flash exposures. In the absence of the flash cube 18, the control pin 16 projects beyond the rim of the socket so as to serve as a manual switch for arbitrarily terminating a long time exposure, since the shutter will not close automatically due to low illumination of the photo-resistance.
