1,015,193. Photographic cameras. VOIGTLANDER A.G. June 29, 1962 [July 1,1961; July 4, 1961], No. 25158/62. Heading G2A. A photographic camera has a switch device under the control of an exposure meter and arranged that when lighting conditions are favourable the switch remains open but when they are unfavourable the switch is closed to allow operation of an additional lighting source permanently or releasably connected to the camera. As shown, the needle 7 of a light meter may close a switch 5 when it enters the part 8b of its scale thus making ready a flash circuit to be operated when the shutter is released. When a continuous source of illumination is used the part 8b may be in the form of a resistor to vary the amount of current passing to the illumination. The illuminating means may include a relay operated by the switch 5. The diaphragm of the camera may be coupled in accordance with guide numbers of flash apparatus, to the range setting means of the objective so that the aperture is correctly set for the flash used.
