Abstract
1,261,635. Mixing solid proportionately with flowing fluid. THERMIA-VERKEN A.B. 24 Feb., 1969, No. 9849/69. Heading B1C. [Also in Division F2] The movable valve member 17 closes automatically with delayed action on to a seat 19 between the inlet and outlet 13, 15 of a housing 11, against the resistance of a substance contained in a chamber 31 and which is slowly removed by the action of gas or liquid flowing through the valve. Means are provided for varying the magnitude and/or path of the fluid flow acting on the substance. As shown, the substance is enclosed in a perforated tube 41 having smaller openings 42 and a larger opening 43 through which the fluid flows to the outlet. The tube is rotatable by a cap 35 to vary the position if the opening 43 and so control the magnitude or path of the flow. The device is useful for dosage purposes, whereby proportioned additions of the substance are mixed with fluid passing through the valve, e.g. for supply of fertilisers in connection with watering, for chlorination of bathing water, or addition of medical preparations to water for shower-baths.
