Abstract
1,260,134. Panel securing clip; clamps. COOKSON SHEET METAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 13 Feb., 1969 [28 Jan., 1969], No. 7197/71. Divided out of 1,260,133. Headings EIW and E2B. A clip for securing a member consisting of or including a hollow section 16, Fig. 2, comprises a base wall 150, Fig. 1, and a pair of side walls 152, the base wall carrying camming means 164 rotatable to bear upon the base of the hollow section 16 so as to force the walls 152 into pockets 60, 62 provided in the section 16. The camming means 164 is formed as a tongue 166 integral with folded down side portions 158 of an extension 160 of the wall 150, the extension 160 thereby being adapted to act as an actuating lever for the cam 164 and as a fixing plate through which a fastener 178, Fig. 3 (not shown) may be passed to secure the clip to a purlin 180. The extension 160 has a hole 174 for a nail fastener and a hole 172 for a conventional hook bolt for use with a metal purlin. The member 16 may be a hollow rib formed in a cladding sheet, or may be a section member used to secure the edges of cladding sheets.
