Abstract

1,260,003. Feeding and delivering sheets. R. MOHR. 15 May, 1969 [15 May, 1968; 30 May, 1968], No. 24752/69. Heading B8R. Partial stacks of sheets 8, Fig. 1, which may be delineated by wedges 7, are separated from the top of a complete stack 6 by a carrier 4 mounted for horizontal reciprocation on guides 5 which are pivotable about the axis of a lifting column 3 on which they are vertically displaceable. In operation, the carrier 4 is brought to the requisite height, moved into the stack, pushing out a wedge 7 if present, and then swung round the column 3 to deposit the stack on the work-table 13 of a cutting-machine, whence it is removed and deposited on a stack 15 by a similar mechanism mounted on a column 2. The base of the carrier is formed as a blade, coming to a point either centrally or at one side, and may carry at its upper side a roller 6a, Fig. 6, rotating clockwise to move the partial stack on to the carrier, and also a reversely rotating lower roller 5a to assist insertion of the carrier into the complete stack, or the rollers may be replaced by one or two endless driven belts. The carrier may have a shaking movement imparted thereto. In one form, Figs. 9 and 11, rails 19b are retracted to allow the stack 12b to be moved on to its pallet, and thus moved into position as a stack support. The carrier 7b is advanced along rails 5b into the stack, and swung around the column 4b to deposit the partial stacks on the machine table 13b. The cut stack 24b is then pushed on to the carrier 15b against a stop 17b and the carrier swung about the column 23b into alignment with the stack 22b. The carrier then moves along the rails 14b to move the stack 24b under a pivotal stop 18b on to the stack 22b, the stop swinging down so as to hold the stack 24b in place when the carrier is withdrawn. The feeding carrier tip may be provided with air blower nozzles to assist separation.
