A head-rest 1 is mounted on a vehicle seatback 2 so as to be infinitely adjustable in height by two parallel rods 3 guided in elastic bushes 5 secured in guide tubes 4 fixed in the seat-back 2, the bores of the bushes being made of a size to be expanded by insertion of the rods. Additional guidance is provided by further bushes 8 in the lower ends of the tubes 4, fitting the rods 3 with slight clearance.
