Abstract
1,259,791. Knitting. G. BILLI & C. S.p.A. 29 April, 1969 [3 May, 1968], No. 21767/69. Heading D1K. A stocking toe closure is formed by knitting a pouch A and completing it by knitting tubular fabric C. After knitting the foot M knitting is continued on alternate needles until sufficient fabric for part A is formed, when loops 5 are transferred to hooks 3, and a runresistant tab knitted. A closure is then formed by twisting or by a binding thread L. A tubular portion C is then knitted on all needles and once loops 5 have been returned to the needles a further run-resistant tab is knitted. The stocking is knit of thermoplastic yarn so that when finally boarded the closure and runresistant portions are located beneath the toe.
