Abstract
1,258,845. Portable containers; packaging. WOLF GERATE G.m.b.H. 8 July, 1970 [31 July, 1969], No. 33048/70. Headings B8C and B8D. A container for storing and mixing components of a plant spraying preparation comprises a frangible capsule 16 rigidly secured to the neck 7 of a bottle and subdivided into a plurality of chambers 2, 4 and 5 containing different components. As shown, the capsule comprises a sleeve 6 threadedly engaged in the neck and divided by partitions into tubular sections 111- 113. The bottle and sleeve are of thermoplastics, e.g. polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene, so that they may be welded to each other. On piercing of the capsule by the tube 9 of a handspray gun 10 threaded on to the container neck, the contents of the chambers pass into a solvent (e.g. water) contained in the bottle to form the desired spray preparation. If the container is not used together with the gun, the capsule may be pierced by means of a spike or the partitions torn open by pulling attached threads. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the capsule is constituted by progressively shorter nested, closed ended, tube sections 11, 12 and 13. Each are provided with an end flange, which, together with a lid 14, are welded to the neck. Alternatively, the tube sections may be retained on the neck by a ring or by screwing into the neck.
