Abstract
1,258,365. Mount for lenses. ERNST LEITZ G. m. b. H. April 22, 1970 [April 26, 1969], No. 19203/70. Heading G2J. A mount for a microscope objective comprises a casing 1 provided with windows 4-7 and lens holders 21-26, at least one of the lens holders being dispersed in the region of a window and having means such as a radial bore 35 accessible through the windows for rotating the lens holder. The lens holders are preferably rotatable by means of pins inserted into the bores. The lens holders may have peripheral annular grooves 12-16 to accomodate plastics rings 28-32, which ensure satisfactory centring of the holders and facilitate their sliding in the casing 1. The foremost lens holder 27 rests on a collar 2 integral with the casing, while the lens holders 22-26 rest on one another, with the inter-position of a spacer sleeve 27. When the lenses have been adjusted as described to produce an optimum image the casing 1 is placed, with the inter-position of a coil spring 40, into an outer casing 41 provided with a screw cap 43 so that the windows 4-7 are concealed. A pin 44 extends through the outer casing 41 to engage a groove 11 in the casing 1, and this may be covered by a protective sleeve 45, on which may be engraved the data of the microscope objective.
