Abstract

1,258,326. Burning refuse. IFB-INGENIEURBURO FUR BRENNTECHNIK G.m.b.H. 5 May, 1969 [31 May, 1968], No. 22790/69. Heading F4B. Apparatus for burning refuse has a conical portion 1, the lowest generatrix 7 of which rises from the narrow to the wide cross-section at an angle of 5 to 10 degrees to the horizontal. The rotating drum 4 has a cylindrical portion 11 coaxial with the conical portion and has grate bars 13 bent inwardly at the inlet opening 25. Obliquely disposed blades 18 disposed on grate bars 8 convey refuse to the wide portion 6 of the conical portion. The refuse is delivered by a shoot 37 and burnt by a burner 36 air being supplied from a tube 27 and through a duct 50 in a shaft 3 on the axis of the conical portion 1. Combustion gases rise into a chamber 28 and are burnt by another burner 40. A flared outlet 38 from chamber 28 has air openings 39. The drum 4 is mounted via columns 29 on a rotary ball-bearing mounting 30 driven by gearing 32 from a motor 33. A hand wheel 35 is provided for displacing a cap 26 to withdraw ash through the grate bars. An ash pit 34 is also provided.
