Abstract
1,258,267. Isocyanide dichlorides. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 31 Dec., 1968 [2 Feb., 1968], No. 61878/68. Heading C2C. The invention comprises compounds of the general formula wherein X represents halogen and R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are identical or different and represent hydrogen or unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl radicals, or R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached complete a carbocyclic ring which may be fused to an aromatic carbocyclic ring. The compounds are prepared by reacting an olefin of the formula with at least equimolar quantities of cyanogen chloride and chlorine in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst at a temperature of - 30‹ to 70‹ C.
