Abstract

1,257,211. Selective signalling. KOMBINAT ZENTRONIK VEB. 1 Jan., 1969, No. 46/69. Heading G4H. A keyboard circuit for providing a coded output to a tape punch or other storage device requires at least two key actuations to set up a complete code combination. In, the described embodiment an 8-bit code is entered in register F1-F8 by up to four successive operations of. decimal keys T1-T8. Operation of T8 sets F8, subsequent operation of oneof keys T1-T7 enters a corresponding binary code in F5-F7, a second operation of T8 sets F4, and a further operation of one of keys- T1-T7 entersa corresponding binary code in F1-F3. Thedistribution of successive-key inputs to register stages F1-F8 is effected, by the circuit ST1, F12, F13 and U2-U4. An interlock circuit prevents tape feeding or address incrementing until the complete code has been entered, but recording need not be prevented until all the code bits having been entered in register F1- F8. Release of a switch P allows direct entry of binary-coded decimal data into a data processor over, RW1-RW4.
