Material for electric contact members consists of Ag in which up to 20% by weight of at least one finely-divided metal oxide and 3-15% of finelydivided Pb are uniformly incorporated. Suitable metal oxides are CdO, SnO 2 , ZnO, MgO and NiO. Contact members may be produced by pressing powder, sintering in an inert atmosphere, and optionally cold after-pressing. They may be hard soldered direct to carrier metals or alloys.
