Abstract

1,256,440. Adhesive tape applicators. SUPRA-VERPACKUNG G.m.b.H. 28 Sept., 1970 [11 Oct., 1969; 31 Jan., 1970; 18 July, 1970], No. 45986/70. Heading B8F. [Also in Division F2] A hand applicator for adhesive tape has the tape fed from a roll 14 between a pressure roller 17 and a back-up roller 18 which incorporates a one-way brake of the jamming roller type to prevent winding back of the tape. As shown the roller 18 is mounted on an arm of a lever 35 which is pivoted at 34 to a frame 11 and has a slot 36 accommodating the axle of the pressure roller 17, the arrangement being such that should the tape tend to wind back, the roller 18 moves towards the pressure roller to clamp the tape. Alternatively the axes of the pressure and backup rollers may be fixed and both rollers be furnished with one-way brakes.
