Abstract

1302797 Feeding record tapes NEWELL INDUSTRIES Inc 26 Oct 1970 [3 Nov 1969] 50753/70 Heading G5R In a roll-to-roll tape transport the supply and take-up rolls are mounted so as to be able to advance and retreat relative to a rotatable resilient drive body located between them and are yieldingly urged against the drive body so as to maintain continuous engagement therewith and to pack the tape tightly in the respective rolls, each of the rolls having its own drag brake means independent of the transport to provide its own tension characteristic despite use of the toll in different transports. As shown, two cassettes 68, 69, each containing a tape roll 25 wound on a hub 29, having individual braking means as described in Specification 1,302,799, are urged by springs (64), Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), acting through retaining catches 61, towards a drive capstan 16.
