Abstract

1,256,329. Packing bought goods in shops. DOHMEIER & STROTHOTTE K.G. 2 June, 1970 [6 June, 1969], No. 26592/70. Heading B8C. Apparatus for packing goods in bags 25 is housed in the packing counter 2 of a cash desk and comprises a pair of opposed belts 16, 17 which pulls a chain of interconnected bags from a storage roll 12, a filling device 18 which has an access aperture in the counter 2 and which opens a bag for filling, and a pair of opposed belts 20, 21 which feeds the filled bag past a welding assembly 22 to a discharge container 11. The chain of bags may be formed by a longitudinally folded web 10 having spaced transverse welds (36, 37) (Fig. 4, not shown) which form a series of bag portions separated by perforations (37), each bag portion having a handle (26, Fig. 3, not shown) formed therein. The counter 2 contains a plurality of storage rails 7, 8, 9 which feed webs to respective apertures 3, 4, 5 in the counter 2. The operation of the apparatus may be controlled by operation of a cash till 1 in the counter, and by flaps actuated at the access apertures 3, 4, 5 and operative to detect goods placed thereon.
