Abstract

1,255,381. Head supports. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 27 May, 1969 [31 May, 1968], No. 26704/69. Heading G5R. The spacing of a head 12 from a record 12 is controlled by regulating the air pressure in a chamber 11 containing a spring 4 biasing the head into the chamber and an elastic diaphragm 3 hermetically sealed to the chamber and a mounting 13 for the head. A part 18 damps head movement and a needle valve 10 regulates air flow from chamber 9 to chamber 11 via duct 8.
