A cellular article comprises a core of foamed synthetic resin e.g. polystyrene or polyethylene and a skin of uniform thickness of cross-linked polyethylene or an ethylene copolymer. The ethylene polymer powder is mixed with a crosslinking agent having a cross-linking temperature above the melting point of the ethylene polymer and with foamable synthetic resin beads and moulded in a rotating mould.
