Abstract

1,255,070. Coatings. HITACHI CHEMICAL CO. Ltd. 3 April, 1969 [10 April, 1968], No. 17712/69. Heading B2E. [Also in Division C3] Substrates e.g. glass plates and iron sheets are coated with an air-curable polyester resin composition prepared by heating (a) an acid mixture comprising 10 to 90 mole % of a methyl-1, 2, 3, 6-tetrahydrophthalic acid or its anhydride and 90 to 10 mole % of an α, #-ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof with (b) an alcohol mixture comprising 75 to 95 mole % of an oxyalkylene glycol or polyoxyalkylene glycol or a mixture thereof, 0 to 35 mole % of a monomeric glycol and 5 to 25 mole % of a triol, to form a polyester, and then dissolving the thus formed polyester and an additionpolymerisable ethylenically unsaturated monomer in each other and the resin is cured.
