Abstract

1,254,491. Discharging cremation furnaces. DOWSON & MASON Ltd. 2 June, 1970 [12 May, 1969], No. 24060/69. Heading F4B. In a cremator 2 of the type disclosed in Specification 1,125,748 the bottom discharge doors of two adjacent furnaces open into a common shoot 7 discharging on to a pan 8 attached to a nut 10 on a screw-threaded shaft 11, by which said pan is raised to a working level. During the upward travel of the pan a blast of cooling air can be directed on it. Automatic apparatus may be provided for ensuring that the pan is correctly positioned when the discharge doors open.
