Abstract
1,253,807. Ferrites. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. 18 Nov., 1968 [30 Nov., 1967], No. 54662/67. Heading H1H. [Also in Division C1] Ferrites e.g. MgMn ferrite, NiZn ferrite and MnZn ferrite are formed by coprecipitating in the presence of a precipitating agent (e.g. a base, carbonate or oxalate) the component metal oxides (or compounds decomposable thereto) in the form of gel particles from an aqueous mixture of the component oxides or salts, which mixture contains a protective agent (i.e. an agent for imparting to the aqueous mixture the property of gelling in the presence of a precipitating agent), separating, washing and drying the gel particles and heat treating these particles until a solid state reaction is completed between the component metal oxides or compounds to form a mixed oxide ceramic material.
