Abstract

1,253,650. Nuclear power plant. R. RADEBOLD. 4 Sept., 1970 [16 Sept., 1969], No. 42524/70. Heading G6C. In a nuclear reactor power plant, the reactor is formed of a number of blocks 9, each of which includes nuclear fuel 1<SP>1</SP>, an MHD converter 4 and a coolant drive unit 11. Heat is transferred from the nuclear fuel to the MHD units by liquid potassium which is passed through a cooler 5 through which air is urged by the turbo-compressor unit 11. The blocks are mounted between the shields 14, 15 and the electrical power is fed from the line 13.
