[Also in Division A4] A rocking chair 3 or other rocking furniture has a motor 6 connected via a reduction gear 7 to a linkage 9, 10 and mounted on a framework 5 pivotally supported (e.g. by links 4) from the chair &c. to which the linkage 9, 10 is connected so that rotation of the motor moves the centre of gravity of the motor, gear 7 and framework relative to the chair &c., to cause the latter to rock.
