Abstract

1,253,542. Pesticide emulsions for treating timber. RICHARDSON & STARLING Ltd. 4 July, 1969 [4 April, 1968; 12 Aug., 1968], Nos. 16352/68 and 38429/68. Heading A5E. A timber preservative in the form of an emulsion comprises a solution of a fungicide and an insecticide in an organic solvent, which solution is dispersed in a non-flammable carrier liquid (e.g. water). The insecticide may be chloronaphthalene or hexachlorocyclohexane, the fungicide may be bis(tri-n-butyl tin) oxide or orthophenyl phenol, and the solvent may be a mixture of C 11 , C 12 and C 13 alkyl benzenes. Application to timber may be by spraying. The subject matter of claim 2 of Specification 1,185,509 is disclaimed.
