Abstract

Known pesticides such as DDT malathion etc., dissolved in a solvent in which a vegetable- or animal wax is dissolved form a single-phased pesticidal liquid. A mixture of lipophilic- and hydrophylic emulsifying agents is added. May be used against harmful organisms such as insects, mites, fungi or weeds in agriculture and horticulture. The liquids are useful for misting from aeroplanes in low concentrations. Addition of waxes reduces the phytotoxicity of the low-volatility solvents used, such as ketones, terpenes, high-boiling aromatic hydrocarbons or high-boiling alcohols. Addition of 0.5.5% of the wax considerably reduces the phytotoxicity.
