508,003. Insecticides. O'KANE, W. C. Nov. 16, 1937, No. 31473. Addition to 507,902. [Class 81 (i)] In an insecticidal concentrate as described in the parent Specification and comprising a glyceride oil, a volatile liquid, a contact insecticide and an emulsifying - agent soluble in the other ingredients, the volatile liquid used is a low boiling, narrow cut, petroleum hydrocarbon which has been redistilled until it consists substantially entirely of hydrocarbons each containing approximately the same number of carbon atoms in the molecule. Such a distillate may be obtained from a cut between 110‹ and 140‹ C, redistilled until it consists substantially entirely of hydrocarbon molecules having from 6 to 9 carbon atoms. The hydrocarbon may be used for making an extract of pyrethrum flowers which serves as the contact insecticide. In addition to the various specific substances referred to in the parent Specification the use of dorris or cubÚ extract as the insecticide and of potassium oleoabietate as the emulsifying agent, is referred to. Stomach poisons and/or fungicides may also be added. According to example the concentrate consists of corn oil, the hydrocarbon, nicotine or pyrethrum, and an emulsifying-agent.
