Abstract

125,347. Russ, F. A. Jan. 2, 1919. Clips, lever.-In rustless sheet metal lever buckles of the kind described in Specifications 28038/07 and 115,296, the lips 5, Fig. 2, for attaching one end k of the webbing C to the buckle is formed by slitting and bending upwardly a portion of the back plate 2 of the member A so that the webbing is attached near the top of the back plate, which has thus a depending portion below the lip to serve as a finger-piece when closing the buckle. The lip 5 is of such a length that its top edge comes just below the top edge of the back plate and to one side of the lever bearings as shown in Fig. 3, so that the lever B will not interfere with the tools for swaging down the lip. The edge of the lip 5 also presents a snapover edge to the member 7 of the lever B when the buckle is being used.
