Abstract

136,737. France, A. G. March 19, 1919. Buckles.-A buckle comprises an outer frame a, Figs. 1 and 4, having a central opening b, the metal at the top and bottom being troughed and pressed together to form tubes c in which is pivoted an inner frame d formed with a central bar l also troughed and pressed together. One or both inner edges of the frame a is formed with a rearwardly-directed flange f against which the strap is gripped by the edge g of the rocking frame d, this edge being slightly curled, as shown. The edges of the frame d may be flat and may overlap the edges of the opening b above and below the frame a, Fig. 9, the rear portion of the frame d having a raised flange h, so that the band j passing over it has an even appearance In another form, Fig. 11, the frames are not troughed, the inner frame d being pivoted in turned-down lugs n on the outer frame a, which has a rearward flange f.
