1,252,944. Granulating dolomite or limestone; glass batch material. COMPAGNIE DE SAINT-GOBAIN. 9 Dec., 1968 [7 Dec., 1967], No. 58332/68. Headings C1A and C1M. Powdered substances, e.g. dolomite or limestone, which may be processed into vitreous or ceramic products, are granulated in the presence of water and sodium and/or potassium carbonate, the granulation being at 33-40‹ C. when the alkali metal carbonate comprises at least 80% by weight sodium carbonate and at above 130‹ C. when the carbonate comprises more than 20% by weight potassium carbonate. Preferably the granules are then dehydrated until lower hydrates of the carbonates are eliminated. The term " granulation " may include briquette formation or agglomeration.
